![]() I paid for a year up front, I don't suppose I'd get my money back, so I am in the process of preparing a switch to Google Drive, as I make a run for cover, to somewhere I can trust not to delete precious memories forever. Phantom Footage Disappearance for absolutely no reason I can fathom. So the next time I uploaded video footage, I was incredibly careful, I didn't rename any folders (which ALWAYS causes a glitch, duplicating folders, but emptying the contents), I didn't move any folders, I organised the naming and filing into one neat folder before uploading. ![]() I lost precious family travel video footage that I had trusted to sync. Phantom Footage Disappearance happened once, and I assumed it was my own user error. I never imagined I would completely lose footage. But sync has been an unmitigated nightmare for me. I was initially so excited when I found sync, after switching from Dropbox because I needed more than 2Tb but didn't want their corporate product (which I hated after a trial). So much is good, but the bad is disastrous. If you care about privacy and security of your data then Sync is the easiest solution you’ll find and rock solid too. Besides a slightly slower upload speed, what Dropbox could do in 2 days Sync did in 2.5 days, and a dated interface I have no other issues with Sync. I can’t share or get sensitive files when I was using Dropbox but since Sync encrypts it all I can. I really like the sharing option as it too is end to end encrypted which is a must for my industry. I seriously don’t understand why you would use anything else? When those other cloud storage companies get hacked all your data will be seen, it’s not a matter of if but when they do get hacked. It’s been rock solid and the end to end encryption is just a must these days. Sync was also the easiest one to use, just put things in a folder, while others seemed overcomplicated in doing the same thing. Sync is not perfect but it’s the only one that made encryption easy and the only one that didn’t fumble or fail at syncing my files. I’ve been testing Dropbox, pCloud, IceDrive, and I ended up on Sync. I'd definitely recommend, especially when you're looking for a secure cloud service. This is a huge relief compared to other cloud storage providers which use canned responses and barely take the time to read your email. Nevertheless, the support agents are very helpful, friendly and patient and really care about your individual support case. This is a huge bummer and should definitely be improved. Even though I am on the Teams Unlimited plan where VIP response times are promised, the average response times from my own experience are around 2 - 3 days. One huge downside of is the slow support. I'm currently on the Teams Unlimited plan and in my opinion $18 per user per month (or $15 per user per month if you pay annually) is great cloud services that offer unlimited storage space are rare, and the few that are there do not use zero knowledge encryption. The pricing of is good in my opinion, it's really worth it. A higher up- and downloading speed would be great, maybe along with servers in the EU for users who don't live in the USA or Canada. The speed of is fine, but far away from the speed of Google Drive for example. I only used the mobile application of a few times, and from what I've experienced it works great, especially the automatic photo and video uploading feature. Although has it's beta solution for this (called Sync CloudFiles), it's far away from the ease of use of Google Drive for Deskstop or Smart Sync, because you manually need to download the files you want to open or edit by setting them local and then setting them back to cloud-only afterwards. Another thing that would be amazing for the desktop application would be file streaming (similar to the stream files option in Google Drive for Desktop or Smart Sync at Dropbox). The desktop application of also works fine but it's interface could use an overhaul, as it looks quite outdated. It's sometimes a bit buggy, but it does it's job. ![]() All files are zero knowledge encrypted and this is something I haven't seen before. is by far the most secure cloud service I have ever seen.
